Michael Hammond has focused on the healthcare services industry for over 35 years. During this time, Mr. Hammond has counseled senior management and boards in the development of optimal business and capital strategies, and led the execution of some of the leading transactions among providers in the industry. He has also advised many leading healthcare companies in the development of turnaround and reorganization strategies. Among his many clients, he has completed engagements recently for Catholic Health Initiatives (CO), Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CA), Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Geisinger Health System (PA), John Muir Health (CA) Sutter Health (CA), Texas Health Resources, Trinity Health (MI), Virginia Mason Medical Center (WA), and Barnabas Health (NJ). Prior to the formation of H2C, Mr. Hammond was a founder of Shattuck Hammond Partners Inc. in 1993, a member of the board and management committees, and served as the President and CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities when Shattuck Hammond was owned by PWC (Shattuck Hammond was sold to Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc. in 2007). Prior to co-founding Shattuck Hammond Partners, Mr. Hammond managed the healthcare investment banking businesses at Salomon Brothers and Morgan Stanley, and was a Principal at Cain Brothers, Shattuck & Company. Prior to joining Salomon Brothers in 1978, Mr. Hammond practiced law at Brown and Wood. Mr. Hammond currently serves as a board member and Chairman of Acclara Solutions, Dominion Diagnostic Labs and the boards of various hedge funds sponsored by Graham Capital Management. Previously, he served on the boards of Accretive Solutions (now R1), Precyse Solutions, a leading, national provider of health information management services and technologies and a member of the board and Lead Director of Cymetrix, a private equity backed health system revenue cycle management company. He served for 17 years on the boards of Danbury Health System and Hospital and was previously the Chairman of the Board of both as well as the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Mr. Hammond also served as a member of the board of the Connecticut Hospital Association. Mr. Hammond received an A.B. degree from Wabash College and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
