James Dawson Bio

James Dawson is a partner at Gleacher Shacklock, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and strategic financial advice. James has advised a wide range of clients in sectors including aerospace & defence, industrial, building materials, chemicals and mining, on transactions including GKN’s defence against the hostile £10.4bn offer from Melrose, Smiths Group’s acquisition of Morpho Detection, Takeaway.com’s £10.5bn contested combination with Just Eat, and BAE Systems’ $4.2bn acquisition of UDI and the €2.75bn sale of its 20% shareholding in Airbus. Prior to joining Gleacher Shacklock, James worked for Lazard in its M&A group and Morgan Stanley in its Global Industrial Group. James has an MA in Classics from Oxford University.
