Mr. Hofstadter is the Chief M&A Officer at Generational. He has 30+ years of M&A experience selling privately held businesses across North America and most industries. He started his career in 1990 with Geneva Capital Markets (which became Citigroup Capital Strategies), and in 2002 became a partner of a boutique firm specializing in the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Brenen joined Generational in 2006 as a Managing Director. Five of Brenen’s transactions have earned prestigious M&A Advisor Awards, and one of his hallmark deals was completing the sale of Johnston Grain and Ports in 2013. In 2017 he transitioned from dealmaker to CM&AO and joined Generational’s executive board. In 2023 he was recognized as one of the top 50 M&A Investment Bankers in the Americas by the Global M&A Network. Brenen earned his BS in Speech Communication from St. Cloud State University, MBA from the University of South Florida, and is a lifetime member of American Mensa Society. He speaks annually at trade conferences and the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition program at the Harvard Business School. Brenen holds a Texas real estate broker license. He is married to Stacy and has four children and 6 grandchildren.
