Bio

Tiarnán O’Rourke is a Managing Director of the firm’s strategic advisory business, based in London. Mr. O’Rourke joined Evercore upon the establishment of its European business in 2006. His recent transaction experience includes advising Intralot on its liability management transactions affecting €750m of debt; Pinebridge Benson Elliott LLP on its £188m public to private of Sigma Capital Group plc; Holiday Extras on its CLBILS funding; Kodak Alaris on the disposal of certain assets; Warburg Pincus on the sale of Accelya to Vista; Gamesys on its £500m cash and shares sale to JPJ; Webjet on its $173m acquisition of Destinations of the World; Metapack on its £175m sale to Stamps.com; Inflexion Private Equity on its acquisition of ATCORE Technology Group; Vitruvian on its £200m sale of JacTravel to Webjet; Chequers Capital on the sale of Accelya to Warburg Pincus; Battery Ventures on the sale of WorldHotels to ALHI; UBM plc on its $841m divestiture of PR Newswire to Cision; IHS GmbH on its €145m sale to Sabre Corporation; Hope Construction Materials on its sale to Breedon Aggregates for £336 million in cash and shares; and Pearson plc on the £844m divestiture of the Financial Times Group to Nikkei. He has also advised Anite plc on its £388m sale to Keysight Technologies, Inc.; Dealertrack Technologies, Inc. on its acquisition of AIM-listed incadea plc; Anite plc on the disposal of its travel software business; Lafarge on the divestment of a portfolio of UK construction assets to Mittal Investments for £272m; Lafarge on the creation of its UK joint venture with Tarmac; Vitaflo International Ltd. on its disposal to Nestlé S.A.; Babcock International Group plc on its £1.4bn acquisition of VT Group plc; and Smiths Group plc on the $4.8bn sale of its aerospace division to GE. Mr. O’Rourke began his career with JPMorgan, where he worked in the London and Sydney offices, advising on a variety of M&A transactions and capital raisings. Before joining Evercore, Mr. O’Rourke was a member of the UK Mergers & Acquisitions team at JPMorgan Cazenove. Mr. O’Rourke holds an International Bachelor of Commerce with German (first class honours) from University College Galway and a Masters of Finance (first class honours) from the Smurfit Business School at University College Dublin.
