Santiago Garavito is a Managing Director in the firm’s corporate advisory business. Mr. Garavito is focused on merger and acquisition advisory and capital structure advisory across the energy sector. Mr. Garavito has over a decade of investment banking experience advising on a wide range of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, debt advisory, liability management, both in and out-of-court restructurings, equity and debt underwritings, and other strategic actions. Since joining Evercore, Mr. Garavito has advised on nearly 50 transactions, including: Clayton Williams Energy on its $3.2 billion sale to Noble Energy, Marathon Oil on its $1.1 billion entry into the Delaware Basin, and Jones Energy on its issuance of $450 million senior secured notes, $1.0 billion Chapter 11 filing, and subsequent corporate sale. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Garavito worked as an Associate for Scotia Waterous, the oil & gas investment banking arm of Scotiabank. Prior to his career in investment banking, Mr. Garavito worked in public accounting at Ernst & Young, LLP. Mr. Garavito graduated from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin where he received a BBA in Business Honors and Finance and received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
