Peter Phipson is a Managing Director of Evercore’s strategic advisory business, specialising in financial services. He is based in London. Mr. Phipson has advised on a broad range of M&A and capital markets transactions across various subsectors of the financial services market, with a particular focus on insurance distribution and underwriting. He has advised on a number of significant transactions including: Hg on its investment in Hyperion, A-Plan on its sale to Hyperion, Convex Group on its $1.8bn capitalisation and launch, McGill and Partners on its $250m capitalisation and launch, Sabre Insurance on its £575m IPO, LV= on the sale of its general insurance business to Allianz for £1.0bn, Amlin on its sale to Mitsui Sumitomo for £3.5bn and Hastings Insurance on its sale to Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division for £715m. Prior to Evercore, Mr. Phipson was a Partner of Lexicon Partners, the corporate finance advisory business which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. Before joining Lexicon in 2007, he worked at Ernst & Young in its Financial Services M&A team. Mr. Phipson has a degree in Spanish from Bristol University.
