Mark Hennessy is a Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Evercore’s European Financial Institutions Group based in London. Mr. Hennessy has over 20 years investment banking experience and has specialised in advising financial services companies since 1997. He has advised on a wide range of M&A and capital markets transactions across a number of sectors within the wider financial services market, with a particular focus on insurance distribution and underwriting. Notable M&A transactions include the sale of Miller Insurance to Willis, the sale of RK Harrison to Hyperion, the sale of Oval Insurance to Arthur J Gallagher, the sale of Gocompare.com to esure, the sale of A-Plan Insurance to Hg Capital and the sale of Hastings Insurance Group to Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division. Capital markets transactions include advising on the IPOs of Benfield, Admiral Insurance and IG Group. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Hennessy was one of the founding partners of Lexicon Partners, which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. Previously, Mr. Hennessy worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions in the financial institutions sector, and prior to that he worked at Hambros Bank. He has a degree in management science from the University of Warwick.
