Mark Hanson is a Senior Managing Director in Evercore’s Corporate Advisory business. Mr. Hanson has approximately 25 years of experience advising companies in the Healthcare and Technology sectors. For the 10 years prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Hanson was a Managing Director at Barclays and Lehman Brothers, and most recently headed the healthcare services team at Barclays. He began his career at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Hanson has advised companies across all Healthcare sectors and has extensive experience in healthcare services and life science tools and diagnostics. Mr. Hanson has advised on the following recent services transactions: Centene on the acquisition of Wellcare and HealthNet; Aetna on its sale to CVS; Humana on the acquisitions of Kindred and Curo; Group Health on its sale to Kaiser Permanente; Amerigroup on its sale to WellPoint; Catamaran on its acquisition of Catalyst; and Metropolitan Health on its sale to Humana. In tools and diagnostics transactions, Mr. Hanson has advised Thermo Fisher on numerous acquisitions and divestitures including the acquisition of Life Technologies; LabCorp on its acquisition of Medtox; and Allscripts the sale of its Netsmart stake. In addition, Mr. Hanson has advised clients on numerous debt and equity financings. Mr. Hanson earned his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from St. Olaf College and an M.B.A from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
