Bio

Mark Connell is a Senior Managing Director of Evercore Partners based in London with 21 years of corporate finance experience. He focuses on advising clients in the electricity, gas and renewables sectors. Mr. Connell has advised on a number of significant transactions in the sector, including Ontario Teachers, Borealis and SSE plc on their acquisition of Scotia Gas Networks, COFRA Holdings on their disposal of interests in REC and in relation to their interests in Q-Cells, and a series of recent transactions in the generation sector for clients including RWE AG, Welsh Power Group and Eggborough Power. Mr. Connell was a Partner and Managing Director at Lexicon Partners, the corporate finance advisory business which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. Prior to joining Lexicon in March 2004, Mr. Connell was a Managing Director in the European Utilities investment banking team at Citigroup, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advice for clients in the electricity, gas and water sectors. He was previously a member of Schroders’ Energy & Utilities team from 1993 until 2000, when Schroders merged with Salomon Smith Barney in Europe. Before joining Schroders, he worked at Enron on a number of electricity and gas infrastructure projects. He has a degree in Economics from Trinity College, Dublin.

Education
