Kevin Genirs is a Managing Director in the Advisory Group. He is focused on business risk controls, including conflict clearance and management, business selection, reputational risk and Commitment Committee processes. Mr. Genirs works closely with the Firm’s Legal & Compliance departments. He also serves as Manager-in-Charge for Risk Management & Operational Controls for the Firm’s Hong Kong and Singapore offices. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Genirs was U.S. General Counsel at Royal Bank of Canada, U.S. General Counsel at Barclays Capital, and General Counsel for Investment Banking at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Genirs served as Chairman of SIFMA’s Capital Markets Committee from 2001-2008 and Chairman of FINRA’s Corporate Finance Committee from 2008-2014. In 2016, he received the Corporate Leadership Award from the New York Legal Assistance Group for pro bono activities. Mr. Genirs earned a B.A. in Economics and Government from Georgetown University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. He currently serves on the Board of the Shield, which provides services to physically and mentally handicapped adults and children, and Right to Play, which seeks to educate and empower underprivileged children to rise above adversity using the transformative power of sports.
