Bio

Jimmy Dang is a Managing Director of the firm’s corporate finance advisory business based in Asia. Mr. Dang has advised on a number of significant transactions across global M&A and Capital Markets having worked in Sydney and Hong Kong. He focuses on mergers & acquisitions and capital raisings in the utilities, infrastructure and broader industrial sectors. Over the course of his career, Mr. Dang has worked on a broad range of transactions and sectors, including regulated utilities, power generation, transportation infrastructure, downstream oil & gas, financial sponsors, aviation, mining services and general industrials. He has advised a number of the leading global strategic and financial investors, including China Light and Power (CLP) Holdings, Jardines, Astra International, KKR, Virgin Australia, Affinity Equity Partners, Leighton Holdings (renamed CIMIC) and Unitas Capital. Notable transactions in Asia include Jardine Matheson’s US$5.5 billion amalgamation with Jardine Strategic, CLP Holding’s sale of a 40% stake in CLP India to Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) (c.3,000MW), Astra International’s partnership and joint acquisition with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) of the 117km Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road (longest segment of the Trans Java Toll Road in Indonesia) from PLUS Expressways, Astra Infra’s acquisition of a 44.5% stake in the Surabaya-Mojokerto Toll Road (36km) from Wijaya Karya and Moeladi, and Armstrong Asset Management’s sale of its operational solar power portfolio in the Philippines to Citicore Power. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Dang was a Strategy and Investments Consultant focusing on strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy at Caltex Australia (now rebranded “Ampol Australia”) based in Sydney. Before joining Caltex, he worked at UBS Investment Bank across the Financial Sponsors, Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT), General Industrials, Mining & Resources and Restructuring teams in Sydney. Mr. Dang has a Commerce (Finance & Economics) Degree and Civil Engineering Degree (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne where he was a National Scholar.
