Hugo Baker Bio

Hugo Baker is a managing director in Evercore’s strategic advisory practice focused on the energy sector. In 2017, Mr. Baker established Evercore’s Middle East presence and was based in Dubai until 2020 leading the firm’s Energy practice in the region, a role he continues to perform. Mr. Baker’s advisory assignments across the energy value chain globally include M&A, strategic advisory, public and private capital markets and restructuring. He helped establish the firm’s hydrogen sector coverage in EMEA. Notable clients have included Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, Mubadala, PIF, Rawabi Holding, Technip Energies, Gulf Marine Services, Everfuel, Kosmos Energy and Ophir Energy. Prior to joining Evercore in 2012, Mr. Baker was part of the fixed income, currencies and commodities division at Macquarie Group in New York. He holds a first-class Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, U.K.
