Edmund Baxter is a senior managing director in the firm’s corporate advisory business. Based in Menlo Park, he focuses on advising clients in the life sciences sector. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Baxter was a senior managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as head of its West Coast life sciences coverage effort. With extensive investment banking experience across strategic advisory, equity capital markets and debt capital markets, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to investment banking clients in healthcare. Mr. Baxter has advised his clients on a number of notable strategic transactions, including BioMarin Pharmaceutical’s acquisition of Prosensa Holding, the sale of Furiex Pharmaceuticals to Forest Laboratories, the sale of Ardea Biosciences to AstraZeneca, the separation of Theravance Biopharma from Theravance, and Gilead Sciences’ acquisition of Pharmasset. He has also advised on numerous capital markets transactions, including equity, convertible debt, traditional debt and royalty financings. Mr. Baxter received his MBA as a Palmer Scholar from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned his B.S. in finance from San Diego State University.
