David Cahoy is a managing director of the firm’s corporate advisory business and focuses on shareholder activism and raid defense. His transaction experience at Evercore includes advising Bristol-Myers Squibb on its contested acquisition of Celgene; Qualcomm on its defense against an unsolicited approach from Broadcom; and Whole Foods on its sale to Amazon and defense against activist JANA Partners. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Cahoy was a vice president in J.P. Morgan’s diversified industries group. Notable deals there included advising Lockheed Martin on the merger of its government services business with Leidos via RMT; Ingersoll Rand’s spinoff of Allegion; and Ingersoll Rand’s acquisition of Cameron’s compressors business. Mr. Cahoy earned a B.A. in economics from Northwestern University, an MBA with honors from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and is a chartered financial analyst.
