Bio

Beau Kretzman is a Managing Director in Evercore’s corporate advisory business with a primary focus on financial institutions. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Kretzman spent nine years at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, most recently as a Director in its Financial Institutions Group. There, he advised on more than 40 completed transactions in the financial services sector. Advisory assignments have included buy- and sell-side mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, failed bank transactions, takeover defense, and evaluation of strategic objectives. Capital raising assignments have included public and private offerings of common stock, recapitalizations of distressed institutions, and senior and subordinated debt issuances. Mr. Kretzman has advised on a number of significant transactions in the financial services sector, including CIT on its cash tender offer of $2.75 billion of common stock; SquareTwo Financial on its restructuring and comprehensive recapitalization; Capital Bank on its acquisition of CommunityOne; Yadkin Financial on its merger of equals with VantageSouth Bancshares; People’s United on its acquisition of Danvers Bancorp; Sterling Financial on its sale to PNC; First Charter on its sale to Fifth Third; Florida Community Bank and Square 1 on their respective IPOs; and Metro Bank (UK) on its initial private placement. Mr. Kretzman received a BA in psychology from Amherst College.
