Alexander Russ is a Senior Managing Director and a Founding Partner of Evercore’s Private Funds Group. Mr. Russ is Head of the New York Office for the Private Funds Group. Mr. Russ was previously an Executive Director in the Alternatives Advisory & Placement Group at Neuberger Berman, formerly part of the Investment Management Division at Lehman Brothers. At Lehman Brothers, Mr. Russ was responsible for capital raising for the Private Equity Division in Europe and prior to this served as a Product Specialist in the Absolute Return Strategies Group in New York and London where he was responsible for the distribution of the firms hedge fund and liquid alternatives products. Mr. Russ began his career in Lehman Brothers’ Investment Banking Division, focusing on M&A advisories as well as capital markets financings in the Communications and Media Group. Mr. Russ graduated with honors from Amherst College in 2001, where he earned a B.A. with a concentration in English.
