Alexander P. Kowell is a managing director in the firm’s corporate advisory business in the Menlo Park-based Technology group and focuses on the software sector. During his many years of investment banking and private equity experience, Mr. Kowell has advised a broad range of companies and private equity firms. Over the course of his career, he has completed more than 20 transactions with an aggregate value of over $50 billion. Recent select deals include FIS’s acquisition of Worldpay; the sale of Qdoba from Jack in the Box to Apollo Global Management; the sale of Mammoth Resorts from Starwood Capital Group to Aspen Skiing Company and KSL Capital Partners; the successful hostile defense of Depomed; and the Series B capital raise of Magic Leap. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Kowell was a principal at Centerview Partners in its technology group and a vice president at Morgan Stanley in its M&A group. Before attending business school, he was an associate at the private equity and debt investment firm Black Canyon Capital after being an analyst at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Kowell earned an A.B. in biochemical sciences from Harvard College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
