Alan Leclair is a London-based managing director in Evercore’s financial institutions group. Mr. Leclair has advised on a broad range of transactions across the financial services market, including property and casualty (re)insurance, insurance distribution (managing general agents and brokers), banking and specialty finance and asset management. Notable transactions include advising Fidelis on its bifurcation; CFC on its sales in 2017 and 2021; Nephila on its sale to Markel; Zenith on its sale to Bridgepoint; Tusker on its sale to Lloyds; Tilney on its merger with Smith & Williamson; and Evercore on its sale of Evercore Trust Co. Mr. Leclair has also advised a number of financial services clients on capital markets transactions, including Citizens Financial Group on its IPO, and Fidelis, Acacia and Beat Capital on their respective capital raises. Prior to Evercore, he worked at Morgan Stanley, which he joined in 2009, specialising in U.K. and Irish financial services M&A. Mr. Leclair has a first-class degree in Law & Accounting from the University of Limerick.
