John Emory Sr. Bio

Mr. Emory provides business valuation advice as Senior Advisor at Emory & Co. Prior to co-founding Emory & Co. in 1999, Mr. Emory worked in the Investment Banking Group of Robert W. Baird & Co. Incorporated, providing and directing business valuation services for over 31 years. He has performed over 1,400 valuations for companies ranging in size to over $2 billion in sales. Mr. Emory is past President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers, an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation, served two terms on the ASA’s Business Valuation Committee, and was an Examiner within the Business Valuation Discipline of the ASA. He served on the ESOP Association’s Valuation Advisory Committee and as Chairman of its Subcommittee on Discounts for Lack of Marketability. He has testified in numerous court, arbitration and deposition settings, published many articles, and given many speeches on business valuation topics. He received a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.
