Bio

Paul Martin is a managing director and leads the firm’s UK Transaction Advisory Services practice, based in the London office. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Paul was a partner in the Transaction Advisory Services practice at Grant Thornton and before that he was a transaction support partner at Ernst & Young (EY). Paul spent the first 15 years of his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Paul has more than 25 years of transaction experience, advising both private equity and strategic clients. His expertise extends across multiple sectors and all aspects of the deal life-cycle from deal origination, buy-side due diligence and execution, post-deal control, performance improvement, exit readiness and sell-side support. Paul has advised on multiple international transactions, delivering integrated financial and operational advice to large leveraged buyout houses and corporates, mid-market funds and across the dynamics of distressed environments. He is a practical accountant with a strong commercial approach, who appreciates the need to focus on key value drivers for his clients. His transaction advisory experience includes projects from a variety of industries, including manufacturing (tobacco, steel, automotive, chemicals, aluminum, food and beverage, and capital equipment), retail, fast-moving consumer goods, leasing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, airlines, transport and infrastructure, travel and leisure, telecoms, distribution and logistics, media and entertainment, and financial services. Paul is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the ICAEAW. He holds a first class honors degree in mathematics from Northumbria University.
