Dafydd Evans is a managing director in the London office within the M&A Advisory practice. Focused on the European mid-market, Dafydd has over 16 years of corporate finance experience across both M&A and restructuring and particular expertise within the Industrials, Engineering/Materials and Aerospace/Defense sub-sectors. Dafydd has a strong track record in originating, leading and executing a number of transactions for UK and European corporates, private equity and owner-managed businesses. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Dafydd was at DC Advisory Partners (formerly Close Brothers Corporate Finance) for seven years as part of their successful European Industrials M&A team, and prior to that the Corporate Finance team at PwC for six years. During his career he has completed a number of high profile transactions including the recent sales of Mettis Aerospace by Chamonix PE, the sale of Aeromet International by Black Diamond Capital, the sale of United Flexible by AIAC, the acquisition of AIM Aviation by Towerbrook Capital, the sale of Napier Turbochargers to Wabtec Inc and the sale of the remaining business and assets of Hampson Industries to American Industrial Partners. Prior to his career in Investment Banking, Dafydd gained operational experience as a Product Engineer with Corus plc (now TATA Europe) and Alcan Rolled Products (now the Aluminum division of Rio Tinto). Dafydd received his M.A. in Materials Science from St. Anne’s College, Oxford University. He was also a successful rugby player, representing the university (gaining three Blues) and his country at Schools, Students and Under 21 levels. Dafydd is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
