Jim Holzer is a Managing Partner at Drake Star Partners. He has over twenty years of experience completing M&A and financing transactions for leading software and technology enabled services companies. With a focus on sellside M&A, Jim has completed over 100 transactions aggregating over $15 billion in value. He has closed deals with leading strategic players including Verisk, Software AG, Nokia, Ericsson, Axel Springer, Harper Collins/Newscorp, Sony, Time Warner Cable, Sterling Talent Solutions, Datawatch and Marin Software. Private equity firms with which Jim has completed successful transactions include Francisco Partners, ABRY Partners, New Mountain Capital, The Carlyle Group, Rho Capital, Littlejohn, CIP Capital, VSS, and Fidelity Ventures. Prior to joining Drake Star Partners, Jim held senior technology M&A roles at large full-service firms including CIBC World Markets and Prudential Securities as well as at middle market investment banks including Houlihan Lokey, Brown Brothers and Berkery Noyes. Jim holds a B.A. in Economics from Emory University and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
