Jim Holzer is a Managing Partner at Drake Star Partners. Jim has over twenty years of experience completing M&A and financing transactions for public, private and private equity/venture backed companies including sponsoring direct equity and debt investments for leading companies across the software/services, digital media and mobile sectors. With an emphasis on middle market technology companies, Jim has completed over 100 transactions aggregating over $10 billion in value. Prior to joining Drake Star Partners, Jim was a Managing Director at Landmark Ventures where he focused on software and digital media. Jim has also served as the Head of Technology M&A at Brown Brothers Harriman where he was responsible for originating and executing M&A and private equity transactions. His extensive track record includes senior technology-focused M&A roles at large full-service firms including Executive Director of Technology M&A at CIBC World Markets and Director of Technology M&A at Prudential Securities, as well as Managing Director at Berkery Noyes and Vice President of Corporate Finance at Houlihan Lokey, where helped build Houlihan’s investment banking practice into a nationally recognized franchise. Jim began his career as an Equity Research Analyst at EF Hutton (now part of Citigroup) where he covered the telecommunications industry. Mr. Holzer holds a B.A. in Economics from Emory University and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
