Bio

Gary L. Ferrell is a Managing Director at Diamond Capital Advisors. He is very focused on media and entertainment, industrial and business services, given his vast background in these sectors. Gary held various executive positions and has built, raised capital and sold numerous companies within these sectors. Prior to joining Diamond, he was Principal Owner and Executive Vice President of NBR Worldwide (NBRW), which produces the Nightly Business Report (NBR); CEO of North Texas Public Broadcasting Inc. (NTPB), during the time, it won numerous awards including a national Emmy and a George W. Peabody award. While there, Gary negotiated the sale of KDTN (Channel 2), creating significant funding to invest in production, capital and strategic initiatives. Gary also served as CFO and EVP of Business Development for KCET, doubling its revenue in 12 years; growing viewership to a weekly average of 2.5 million households; and, expanding coverage into 10 additional counties. Gary founded and served as Chariman to The Store of Knowledge, Inc., a retail educational store; he co-founded VideoFinder.com, LLC, a national video distribution business that sold video through inbound telemarketing; He co-founded both the Puzzle Place Marketing Company and Angeles Communications, a direct marketing company. Gary has also held various other management positions in commercial broadcasting and oil and gas firms and also lectured as a professor at both Pepperdine University and Occidental College. Gary, a CPA, holds an BBA degree from Baylor University and an MBA degree from Pepperdine University. He is licensed by FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 63 and 79) and is a Certified Mergers and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA). Gary’s free time is spent serving on boards of both non-profit and for-profit organizations. He currently serves on the boards of the Alzheimer’s Association and Cassis Travel Services, Inc., a large international travel company. Previously, he served on the American Public Television; Baylor University’s Advisory Board; Van Cliburn Foundation; National Educational and Telecommunications Association; National Public Broadcasting; and, the Public Television Major Market Group.
