Raja Narayanan is a Managing Director at DelMorgan & Co. Mr. Narayanan is a senior business executive with over 25+ years of operational expertise and a unique combination of deep technology background bridged with valuable financial outcomes. He brings qualified corporate governance experience and has played a key role in finance, corporate strategy, product & technology, and risk management. Mr. Narayanan has extensive experience in raising capital for corporations and startups. He is intimately familiar with various forms of raising capital, M&A, JVs, restructuring, and unlocking hidden value. Mr. Narayanan’s technology background spans deep tech, autonomous systems and decarbonization, and he is knowledgeable in integrating machine learning systems across mobility systems – from satellites to autonomous flying systems, and from robotaxis to hyperloop. His background in physics brings a unique perspective on software and systems. As an innovator with a keen eye on value, Mr. Narayanan has been an advisor and early executive team member of three disruptive start-ups, which exited with a combined value of over $10Bn and fundamentally changed the game in terms of creating superior unit economics, eliminating bottlenecks and crafting business models that can scale in a frictionless fashion. As an enterprise builder, Mr. Narayanan has led product / market fit, hired multi-disciplinary teams, established culture, led strategy and unlocked financial results. He has successfully collaborated in billions of dollars of fundraising and has nurtured trust-based relationships with a broad swath of investors – venture capitalists, corporate investors, sovereign wealth funds and private equity. He is on startup boards and is a trusted consultant to several CEOs on an ad-hoc basis. As a global executive, Mr. Narayanan spent a lot of time across the U.S., Japan and India. He is skilled in navigating both eastern and western business cultures and works with investors across the globe. Mr. Narayanan recently wrapped up his assignment as CFO, interim CEO and Board member of privately held H1 (formerly Virgin Hyperloop One). Over a tenure of nearly 3 years, he engineered a restructuring of the company, securing IP and executing its merger / acquisition by DPW (Dubai Port World). Prior to H1, Mr. Narayanan was the SVP of strategic partnerships and China business at Motional/Aptiv, originally founded out of MIT. Mr. Narayanan was a core member of the Motional team that attracted over $1Bn in cash investment from Hyundai. In addition, Mr. Narayanan has successfully led P&L business units at large Fortune 100 corporations (Panasonic, Toshiba). He is well versed in working with corporate cultures to drive top-line revenue and margin growth. Originally from India, Mr. Narayanan has degrees in Physics and Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, one of the top-rated universities in the world. He came to the U.S. on a student scholarship to successfully complete a Master’s program. He is a co-author of several patents that have been granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
