Jon Tebol is the Founder and CEO of Daybreak Capital Partners, LLC and has worked in the investment banking industry for over 25 years at various leading middle market investment banking firms. In addition, Mr. Tebol has served as an advisor and consultant to leading private equity firms including the $300 billion The Carlyle Group (NASD: CG) and Main Street Capital (NYSE: MAIN) private equity funds. During his career, Mr. Tebol has executed numerous (250+) investment banking transactions across a broad range of industry sectors and transaction types, including corporate sales and divestitures, management buyouts, recapitalizations, public offerings, private placements, fairness opinions, and growth financings. Among other accomplishments, Mr. Tebol served as the merger advisor in the sale of Specialty Coating Systems Inc., which was recognized as one of the “Deals of the Year” by both The Deal magazine and Buyouts in their annual reviews of M&A transactions completed worldwide. Prior to founding Daybreak Capital Partners, Mr. Tebol was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Department of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company (NYSE:SF) and a predecessor entity, Legg Mason Capital Markets, from 2003 to 2010. Prior to Legg Mason, Mr. Tebol served in a senior capacity for 17 years in the Mergers & Acquisitions department of RBC Capital Markets (Royal Bank of Canada) and one of its predecessor investment banking entities, Tucker Anthony Sutro. From 1990 to 2003, Mr. Tebol served in the capacity of Managing Director at the firm. Prior to joining RBC, Mr. Tebol was a Managing Director and member of the management investment group that purchased Tucker Anthony Sutro in a $200 million buyout in 1996 from its then parent, The John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. Management and its lead investor (Thomas H. Lee Partners) one year later took the acquired company public on the NYSE and subsequently sold it 4 years later for $600 million to Royal Bank of Canada. Prior to Tucker Anthony, Mr. Tebol worked in the investment banking departments of Bear Stearns & Company and Eppler, Guerin and Turner. Mr. Tebol has earned the professional distinction of serving as a “prevailing” expert witness in U.S. Federal Court in corporate valuation matters. Mr. Tebol currently serves of the Board of Directors of KECO Analytical Systems, a manufacturer of electrochemical industrial sensors and portfolio company of Main Street Capital Corp (NYSE: MAIN). Mr. Tebol holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Susquehanna University and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Graduate School of Business.
