Thomas Hayes is a Managing Director for the Investment Banking group with more than 20 years of experience. He specializes in structuring mergers and acquisitions, evaluating strategic alternatives, and facilitating public and private offerings of equity and debt for financial institutions. He has completed over 100 transactions for financial institutions including public and private offerings of debt and equity, both buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, branch purchases and sales, valuations and other financial advisory services, totaling approximately $6 billion in value. He was ranked among the nation’s most active M&A bankers in the financial services space in 2007, 2013, 2014 and 2016, according to SNL Financial. Thomas was also a recipient of the 2016 Emerging Leaders Award, given annually by the M&A Advisor. Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, Thomas served as a financial analyst with D.A. Davidson through the firm’s summer internship program. He also served as an intern for Sen. Max Baucus. He currently serves as Chairman of Holy Spirit Catholic School’s endowment and is a past member of the school’s board. He served on the Davidson Honors College Advisory Board and the School of Business Administration’s Accounting & Finance Advisory Board, both at the University of Montana. Thomas graduated with high honors from the University of Montana with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, emphasis in finance, and a minor in economics.
