Jed Duncan is an Advisory Director at Cypress. He has over 25 years of experience as an investment banker and leveraged finance professional, serving middle market companies and private equity sponsors. Over the course of his career, he has led teams that have closed nearly 100 transactions with an aggregate value of over $15 billion in the business services, consumer, food, industrial, healthcare and media industries. Mr. Duncan was previously a Senior Advisor to Ramirez & Co., where he was responsible for the origination of underwritten and co-managed equity and debt capital markets offerings issued by the portfolio companies of large private equity sponsors. Prior to joining Ramirez & Co., Mr. Duncan spent seven years as a Managing Director in the Financial Sponsors Group of BMO Capital Markets. While at BMO Capital Markets, Mr. Duncan originated the concept, introduced the parties, and structured the sale of IESI Corp. to BFI Canada, resulting in one of the largest cross-border acquisitions ever by an income fund. Prior to BMO, Mr. Duncan was a Managing Director in the Leveraged Finance Groups of CIBC World Markets and FleetBoston Financial Group, where he was also the Head of the New York office. Mr. Duncan gained valuable private equity experience as a founding partner and Managing Director of UBS Capital, the merchant banking subsidiary of UBS where he worked for six years. At UBS Capital, Mr. Duncan was both a lender and a borrower of senior and mezzanine debt. Mr. Duncan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Yale University and a Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University.
