Dr. Dierk Beyer is a Partner in Cowen’s European M&A Group. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in life sciences and chemicals. These include positions at Hoechst and Clariant, and ten years as professional at the Boston Consulting Group for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. His industrial expertise is complemented by in-depth practical experience in corporate finance, as co-founding partner of TransAct Advisory Services, a corporate advisory company focusing on pharmaceuticals and chemicals. He was involved in a large number of transactions in life sciences, including the sale of a leading API manufacturer in Europe, several Contract Research organizations (CROs), and one of the largest European bio-tech and pharmaceutical licensing agreements in recent years. Dierk was a member of the Task Force Pharma for the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) for several years, as well as the BMG’s Diagnostics and Tissue Engineering working group. He holds a doctorate in chemistry, he studied at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the University of California Irvine. He completed his PhD at the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research and the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research in Japan (RIKEN).
