Bio

Julio Fermo is a Certified Public Accountant from the Universidad Nacional Rosario (UNR). He also holds a Master degree in Finance from the Centro de Estudios Macroeconómicos de Argentina (CEMA), which he complemented with a Master degree in Bankruptcy from the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (UBA). Julio Fermo is founding partner and director at Columbus Merchant Banking. Mr. Fermo has worked in the Investment Banking industry for more than 16 years, covering the whole range of products such as fixed income, structured products, multilateral financing, advisory, syndicated loans, project finance, M&A, private equity, venture capital, liability management, work-outs, LBOs, among others. Before joining Columbus, Mr. Fermo was Vice President of Citigroup/Citibank, N.A. and Structured Finance Head within Citibank Argentina’s Investment Banking Team. Prior to that, he was part of the Corporate Finance for Citigroup Assets Team in Argentina responsible for the restructuring of the proprietary corporate portfolio affected by the 2001 domestic crisis. During this period, Mr. Fermo led the steering committees of Pecom Energía S.A., Banco Hipotecario, Multicanal, AGEA (Diario Clarín), Cablevisión and Loma Negra, among others. During 1999, Mr. Fermo worked as an Associate at Citigroup Latin America Investment Banking Group, based in New York, covering a wide range of products and geographies. Prior to joining Citibank, Mr. Fermo worked for two years at Galicia Capital Markets S.A. as an investment banking officer.
