Alejandro Dillon is founder and Managing Partner of Columbus Merchant Banking. Mr. Dillon has almost 25 years of Investment Banking experience, were he was in charge of origination and structuring of debt, equity, privatizations, project finance and advisory deals for different industries in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile for investors, corporates and governments. During his career, Mr. Dillon was involved in more than 120 transactions totaling a volume exceeding US$ 20,000 million, many of which have been landmark transactions in the Latin American marketplace. Before founding Columbus, Mr. Dillon was involved for almost 18 years at Citigroup. Between 2002 and 2004 Mr. Dillon, together with his current partners, led the Argentina Corporate Finance Team responsible for the redeployment of the corporate restructuring portfolios generated after the crisis. Mr. Dillon was the M&A Head of Citigroup in the Southern Cone from 1997 to 2002, Managing Director of Citicorp Capital Markets S.A. and acted as Investment Banking Deputy Head in Argentina. During his career, Alejandro has also worked actively with the Argentine Securities and Exchange Commission, the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, the Association of Argentine Banks, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina, mainly focusing in the development of the local Capital Markets and innovative financial products. Alejandro Dillon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and has attended the Advance Development Program at the London Business School (“LBS-ADP25”). Mr. Dillon has been professor of the Master in Finance at Saint Andrew’s University (Argentina) from 2002 to 2007. He was a Member of the LBS International Alumni Board from 1999 to 2005. He is also a Member of the Advisory Board at I.A.E. Business School Center for Entrepreneurship (Argentina) and has collaborated with Endevor (Argentina) and New Ventures (USA).
