Bio

Seth Lloyd has spent his career working with financial services firms on key strategic, operational, and financial matters, including strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, investor communications, and activist defense. He has advised banks, financial technology firms, asset and wealth managers, and specialty finance companies. Mr. Lloyd has advised FIS on its $43 billion merger with Worldpay, Eaton Vance on its announced $7 billion sale to Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Canada on its $5.4 billion acquisition of City National, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce on its $5.0 billion acquisition of PrivateBancorp, Anchor Bancorp Wisconsin on its $461 million sale to Old National, Bread on its $450 million sale to Alliance Data Systems, LPL on its announced $300mm acquisition of Waddell & Reed’s Wealth Management business, Capital One on the sale of its direct brokerage business to E*TRADE, Pinnacle Financial Partners on the common equity offering used to finance its $2.0 billion acquisition of Bank of North Carolina, and Flagstar Bancorp on the repayment of TARP funds and its associated capital raise. He has advised multiple other financial institutions on public and private capital raises and on activist defense, among other topics. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Lloyd was a member of JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate Strategy team, where he was particularly involved in post-crisis business rationalization as well as helping set JPMorgan Chase’s strategic approach to the new regulatory and operating environment. Mr. Lloyd also held management roles in J.P. Morgan’s global Transaction Services business. Mr. Lloyd began his career at McKinsey & Co. advising financial institutions on strategy and operational performance and also worked for the senior executives of Ford Motor Company. Mr. Lloyd received a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. (summa cum laude) from Princeton University.
