Bio

During his nearly 20-year career, Mr. Greene has led restructuring, financing and M&A assignments for companies, creditors, acquirers, shareholders and other stakeholders across a wide array of industries, including retail and consumer, energy, power, natural resources, oilfield services, general industrial, chemicals, transportation, telecommunications and technology, gaming, healthcare, and financial institutions. Mr. Greeneā€™s selected company side experience includes representing Alcatel-Lucent, Ambac, Avaya, Bedford Fair, Bruno's Supermarkets, Calpine Corporation, Clearwire, CMS Energy, Colo.com, Cygnus Business Media, Favorite Brand International, F&W Media, Laidlaw, MagnaChip Semiconductor, McLeod USA, Oakwood Homes, PG&E, Polymer Group, Port Townsend Paper, Residential Capital, Stallion Oilfield Services, TECO Energy, Terraform Power, The Dialog Corporation, United Australia/Pacific and U.S. Office Products. Mr. Greene has also represented creditor and equity constituencies in various transactions including Aspect Software, CDX Gas, Dow Corning Corporation, DS Waters, Edison Mission Energy, Energy Exploration and Production, Energy Future Holdings, Endeavour, Extended Stay Hotels, Hilex Polymer, Kerzner Resorts, MachGen, Magnum Hunter, Midstates, Mirant Corporation, Molycorp, Peabody Energy, Sandridge and Station Casinos. Sam Greene joined Centerview Partners in 2011 to establish its restructuring and debt advisory practice, which he co-heads. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Greene was a Managing Director and founding member at Miller Buckfire & Co. and a member of the financial restructuring group of its predecessor, Wasserstein Perella & Co., which he joined in 1997. Mr. Greene is a member of several industry trade organizations including the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association and is a frequent lecturer on restructuring topics. Mr. Greene is a founder of New Leaders at New York Presbyterian Hospital and a member of the New York Weill Cornell Council. Mr. Greene received a B.A. (with honors) from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
