Roland Phillips has spent his entire professional career working with global Consumer Products companies and has been based in New York and London. Recent transactions include Diageo’s sale of its interest in Desnoes & Geddes (Red Stripe brand) to Heineken; Diageo’s sale of its interest in Guinness Anchor Berhad to Heineken; Diageo’s acquisition of Heineken’s stake in Guinness Ghana Breweries; the €1.6 billion sale of Iglo Foods to Nomad Holdings, the £500 million sale of Findus Group to Nomad Holding; the sale of United Biscuits to Yildiz Holdings; the sale of KP Snacks to Intersnack Group. Mr. Phillips has successfully executed transactions in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa, across a range of transaction types including M&A, leveraged finance and equity. Other notable transactions include advising shareholders on the $875 million sale of Concern Kalina (Russia) to Unilever; advising Landsbanki and Glitner on the £1.55 billion sale of Iceland Foods to a management-led buyout group; advising Unilever on the $3.7 billion acquisition of Alberto Culver, among others transactions. Prior to joining Centerview in its London office, Mr. Phillips was a Managing Director at UBS and head of its European Consumer Products & Retail team. Mr. Phillips is a dual U.S. and British citizen and holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Franklin & Marshall College.
