Paul Collins, Partner, joined Centerview in November 2014. As an investment banker with over 25 years experience, he has advised on many of the largest and most complex mergers, acquisitions and strategic transactions in the chemicals space around the world. Mr. Collins has completed over $100 billion of transactions in his career. Mr. Collins joined Centerview from Barclays, where he was Vice Chairman, Investment Banking and previously Global Head of Chemicals, Barclays Capital. Prior to Barclays, he served as Managing Director and Head of Global Chemicals Group at Lehman Brothers, Managing Director in the Chemicals Group at Merrill Lynch, and Managing Director in Mergers and Acquisitions at The Blackstone Group. Throughout his career, Mr. Collins has advised on some of the most significant transactions in the chemicals space including: GE's $11.6 billion sale of its plastics unit to SABIC; BASF's $5.6 billion acquisition of Engelhard; Eastman Chemical's $4.8 billion acquisition of Solutia; Carlyle Group's $4.9 billion acquisition of Dupont Performance Coatings; Henkel’s £2.7bn acquisition of ICI’s Adhesives and Electronic Materials businesses; Dow Chemical's $1.7bn sale of Morton Salt; Platform Specialty Products' acquisitions of MacDermid and Chemtura AgroSolutions; Agrium’s A$1.9bn acquisition of AWB; ATMI’s $1.2bn sale to Entegris; among others. Mr. Collins has also advised on and structured some of the most complex transactions in the chemicals space, including Georgia Gulf's RMT with PPG Industries' commodity chemicals business; Sterling Drug / Sanofi $5.2bn global joint venture; Chevron / Conoco Phillips Petrochemicals $6.1bn joint venture; Millennium Chemicals; spin-off from Hanson plc; Nova Chemicals spin-off from Nova Corp concurrent with Nova Corp’s merger to TransCanada Pipelines; among others. Mr. Collins holds Civil Law degree with Honors from the University College in Dublin, Ireland, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
