Kempton Dunn joined Centerview Partners in February 2020 and is a member of the firm’s Technology practice based in Palo Alto. He has over 20 years working with enterprise software companies across a wide range of mergers & acquisitions and financing transactions. Mr. Dunn’s most recent M&A transactions include the $4.8 billion sale of Marketo to Adobe, the $1.3 billion sale of Vlocity to Salesforce, the $1.4 billion acquisition of Saba by Cornerstone OnDemand, the $875 million acquisition of PlanGrid by Autodesk, the carveout of ServiceMax from GE by Silver Lake Partners, the $7.5 billion sale of GitHub to Microsoft, the $1.8 billion sale of Marketo to Vista Equity, the $1.0 billion sale of ServiceMax to General Electric, the $930 million acquisition of Climate Corporation by Monsanto, the $850 million sale of Intacct to Sage, the $750 million sale of Accelrys to Dassault, the $810 million sale of Eloqua to Oracle, the RealPage acquisition of LRO, and the $1.9 billion acquisition of JDA by New Mountain Capital. His most recent IPOs include Anaplan, Zuora, New Relic, Box, Zendesk, AppFolio, Atlassian, and Veeva. He has also completed recent financings for Apptio, Autodesk, Avalara, Ellie Mae, RealPage, and Xero. He has worked closely with numerous leading software venture capital and private equity sponsors including Benchmark Capital, Bessemer Partners, Hellman & Friedman, Sequoia Capital, Silver Lake Partners, Thoma Bravo, and Vista Equity Partners. Previously, Mr. Dunn was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Head of West Coast Software investment banking. Mr. Dunn received his MBA from Harvard University, and his BA in Economics & Political Science from Yale University. He resides in San Francisco with his wife and three children.
