Alan Hartman has over 25 years of investment banking experience, having advised on many of the transactions that have helped transformed the healthcare sector over that time. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hartman has advised on almost $1 trillion of transactions, and has established himself as a leading advisor in the healthcare industry. He has advised in some of the largest and most complex transactions across every aspect of the industry. Mr. Hartman joined Centerview in 2009 after 16 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was head of Americas Mergers & Acquisitions. He received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard Law School. He spent four years as a corporate attorney at Skadden Arps prior to joining Merrill Lynch. He is on the boards of Weill Cornell Medicine, FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) and The Kelly Writers House at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as being on the finance committee and co-head of the annual fund of Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Together with his wife and three children, he founded the Fund For New Leadership, a new philanthropic venture that provides early support to emerging social change leaders from cities and towns across the country.
