Ira Z. Leiderman, managing director of the healthcare practice at Cassel Salpeter & Co., is a highly experienced healthcare investment banker and executive. He applies his extensive expertise and relationships within the health care, life sciences, investment banking and U.S. capital markets arenas to help advance clients’ goals. Over the years, Ira has successfully led numerous transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, public offerings, follow-on financings, and valuations as well as conducted strategic advisory work for companies in the health care and life sciences sectors. His experience also includes providing guidance for investment in health care and life sciences companies in the United States, Europe, and Israel. Prior to joining Cassel Salpeter, Ira was the founder and managing partner of Long Trail Advisors, a life sciences advisory firm and M&A boutique. Before this, he served as the co-head of Ladenburg Thalmann & Co.’s Healthcare Group. He also headed the Healthcare Group at Punk Ziegel and served on the firm’s management committee, prior to its acquisition by Ladenburg Thalmann. Before this, he was a member of The Palladin Group, an investment-management firm where he oversaw investment transactions in public and private life sciences companies. Ira joined Palladin after leading the healthcare practice at Gerard Klauer Mattison (now part of BMO). Currently, Ira serves on the boards of Collplant Ltd. and of Camp Ramah in the Berkshires. He previously served as executive Chairman of the Board of Apthera. Prior to his Wall Street career, Ira published numerous papers and chapters in the area of stem cell biology and the pathogenesis of HIV infection.
