Bio

Shareef Simaika is a Managing Director at Cascade Partners, focused on leading and growing our Detroit Restructuring Practice. With over 20 years of experience, Shareef brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our firm. Throughout his career, Shareef has been a leader at several organizations, with a proven record of success in corporate turnarounds, restructurings, refinancings, customer/supply chain relationship management, and bankruptcy reorganizations. Drawing on his long advisory and commercial lending experience, Shareef offers unique insights into the perspectives of various stakeholders during difficult negotiations and provides a steadying hand during some of the most challenging times for organizations. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, automotive, energy, food, retail, real estate, contractors, and professional services. Shareef joined Cascade from Capstone Partners, where he was part of their Financial Advisory Services Group. He joined Capstone from predecessor firm Amherst Partners, which was acquired by Capstone in 2021. Previously, Shareef was a director with the business advisory firm Alderney Advisors, where he specialized in assisting automakers and manufacturers in assessing risk and managing troubled suppliers. Shareef started his career as a Vice President in Comerica Bank’s Special Assets Group, where he focused on complex middle-market cases, including distressed manufacturers, large bankruptcies, and fraud-related matters. Shareef also worked as a commercial lending credit officer at Comerica, overseeing teams managing assets across Michigan, Arizona, California, and Texas. In this capacity, he led the structuring, underwriting, and due diligence of multiple deal types, including leveraged financing, asset-based lending, and commercial real estate. Shareef earned his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Michigan State University – Eli Broad College of Business and is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP).
