Bio

Steve has been a partner with Carriage Hill since 2008 where he is responsible for all aspects of the company’s buy-side/ sell-side M&A advisory practice. In addition to managing a team of originators, analysts and associates, Steve closely and actively engages with owners and managers of privately-held companies, spanning a variety of industries, including manufacturing, business services, healthcare, distribution, TMT, consumer products, food and energy. Steve specializes in sourcing, structuring, negotiating and closing M&A and capital transactions that fit the specific needs of his clients, maintaining an active role from inception of a transaction process through closing. He places a strong emphasis on discretion and confidentiality, whether he and his team are running a narrow (non-auction) sell-side mandate or pursuing acquisitions in connection with a targeted private equity add-on or platform buy-side mandate. Prior to Carriage Hill, Steve was the Managing Director and Group Head of Asset-Based Lending with CapitalSource, a middle-market commercial finance company that grew from start-up to $20B in assets during Steve’s six years with the company. Before CapitalSource, Steve was Senior Vice President with GE Capital Healthcare and its predecessor company, Heller Financial. Before that, Steve practiced M&A law as an associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Prior to Skadden, Steve attended law school at night while working full time in sales and marketing with Baxter Healthcare Corporation and Caremark. Steve received a J.D., summa cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law, an M.B.A from Pennsylvania State University, and a B.A in Economics from Dickinson College.
