Mr. Stires combines a strong financial background with solid team and business building skills. He has significant experience working with physicians, reimbursement agencies, negotiations with vendors and group purchasing organizations. He is experienced in assessing and optimizing business processes, cost reduction, and product development activities, specializing in the healthcare field. He transactional history has included participation in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as capital raises. His recent experience includes serving as COO of Triad Isotopes and CRO of Landauer Metropolitan in its sale to Quadrant. While at Triad, Don provided oversight to both the sales and operations area, including leading the negotiations of major long term sales and vendor contracts. During his tenure at Landauer, Don provided lead cost reduction activities, vendor negotiations, and cash management duties. Prior to joining Carl Marks Advisors, Mr. Stires was CFO of Johnson & Johnson’s Interventional Systems division, both prior to and after its acquisition of Cordis. There, he led finance, operations, administration, and product development functions in organizations that paved the way for breakthroughs in endovascular and minimally invasive surgery, as well as interventional cardiology. He also led new business development activities and served in a leadership role in the integration of several major acquisitions. Mr. Stires has a BS in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from Columbia University.
