Bio

Mr. Godbout is a Managing Director within the Investment Banking Division at Carl Marks Advisors and has over ten years of financial services experience. He works with clients across the capital structure on mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, and debt and equity capital raises. He has performed in both investment banking and principal investing capacities, developing a comprehensive strategic perspective of all stakeholders that he brings to each engagement. Mr. Godbout has advised on numerous financial restructurings, both in-and out-of-court, Section §363 Sales, internal reorganizations, capital raises, and mergers and acquisitions assignments across a wide range of industries that include manufacturing, transportation, energy, consumer products, and professional services. Prior to rejoining Carl Marks Advisors, Mr. Godbout worked as a private equity investor in the special situations underwriting group at Summit Investment Management. He closed numerous investments across various industries and executed several asset divestitures in the fund’s portfolio during that time. Mr. Godbout previously worked at Carl Marks Advisors before his tenure at Summit. Mr. Godbout holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Cornell University, The Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a FINRA Registered Representative and a member of the Secured Finance Network and the Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Godbout was recently named a Global M&A Network 2022 Americas Rising Star Dealmaker.
