Douglas Sumick Bio

Douglas Sumick is a Managing Director within BTIG Investment Banking. Prior to joining the firm’s Investment Banking Group, he was Head of BTIG Interest Rate Sales and the Interest Rate Trading Desk. Previously, Mr. Sumick was a Vice President within the Interest Rate Derivative Trading and Agency (GSE) Trading divisions at Morgan Stanley. As a manager within the Agency Trading division, Mr. Sumick was responsible for advising, underwriting and syndicating agency debt issuers. Earlier in his career, he was a Director within U.S. Interest Rate Trading at TD Securities, responsible for developing derivative trading strategies and acting as a market maker. Mr. Sumick also held a similar role as a Director within Interest Rates at Mizuho Securities. He earned his BA in finance from the University of Delaware.
