Vice President
and access,
Bob’s career in the financial services industry spans over 40 years. His interest in the stock market started at a very young age, when his uncle taught him the basics, which at that time included, among other things, checking stock prices in the newspaper every evening. The journey began at the highly recognized Philadelphia financial firm, Butcher & Singer in 1983 where he honed his skills of developing individual stock portfolios for clients, many of whom remain clients to this day. Bob continued on with Butcher & Singer, which eventually became Wheat First Securities, until 1994, the year his son was born. At that time, he moved to the suburbs to be closer to home and family marking the beginning of the next phase of his career at Boenning & Scattergood, At Boenning, he works closely with his clients, many of those relationships span decades. Working together with clients to design portfolios geared toward their needs and future goals, using individually selected equities, municipal and corporate bonds, and options. Outside of the office, focus has always been on family. Currently, this includes nightly conversations and weekend visits with his 102 year-old father, whose mind is sharp and he is up to date on current affairs. Bob considers himself extremely lucky to be able to have these conversations. Martina McLaughlin, his wife is an accomplished attorney at Raynes & Lawn in Philadelphia. They are the proud parents of Robert, who is obtaining his Ph.D. in computer science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and daughter, Marcie, who works full time for an insurance company and attends law school at night at Suffolk University School of Law in Boston. Bob and Client Service Associate Rita Baratta serve their client family from the Conshohocken branch. Robert McLaughlin holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 registrations with LPL Financial.
