Bio

Catherine Keating leads BNY's Wealth division, and is a member of the BNY Executive Committee. She is also the CEO and a Board member of BNY Mellon, N.A., the company's national bank subsidiary. She led the 2020 launch of the Investor Solutions division, BNY's Multi-Asset Solutions segment, serving institutional clients across the firm's businesses. The Wealth division has served wealthy families, their businesses, family offices, and philanthropies around the world for more than two centuries. In 2021 and 2022, it was named the “Best Private Bank for Digital Wealth Planning, North America” by the Financial Times. Prior to joining BNY, Catherine was the CEO of Commonfund. Before Commonfund, Catherine held a variety of senior positions at J.P. Morgan over two decades, including Head of Investment Management Americas and CEO of the U.S. Private Bank, as well as serving on the firm’s Executive Committee. Catherine is a frequent speaker on investment and wealth topics. She has been featured in interviews appearing in The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, the Financial Times, Businessweek, and Institutional Investor, among others. Catherine has also appeared on CNBC, Fox, and Bloomberg TV. She has been named one of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance by Barron’s, and one of the Most Powerful Women in Finance and one of the Most Powerful Women in Banking by American Banker. Catherine is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York. She serves on the boards of the University of Virginia Law School Foundation and the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, and on the Investment Committees of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Helmsley Charitable Trust. She previously served on the boards of Villanova University (including as chair), Santander Bank and Santander Holdings USA. She earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Villanova University.

Education
