Bio

Matt Welch is a Managing Director of BlackArch. He has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, including 18 years advising on mergers and acquisitions with a particular focus on consumer, retail and healthcare sectors. He has advised on sellside, buyside, hostile takeover defense and equity/debt capital raising during his investment banking career. Prior to joining BlackArch, Matt was a senior leader of the Consumer, Retail and Healthcare M&A practice at Wells Fargo Securities. More broadly, Matt has experience working with Transportation, Distribution and Communications clients. Previously in his career, Matt worked at Wachovia, Ridgecrest Capital Partners and Duke Energy. Matt earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Duke University. Matt lives in Charlotte with his wife and two children.
