Jim O'Brien Bio

Jim O’Brien is a Managing Director in Baird's Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Prior to joining Baird in 2011, Jim established and led the Real Estate Private Equity and Advisory Group at FBR Capital Markets (FBR). Prior to FBR, Jim was a member of the Private Equity Placement Group with UBS Investment Bank for five years and served as President and Founder of CVC Investments, Inc. from 1989-1999. Jim received a bachelor’s degree in management from St. Joseph's University and an MBA from Duke University. Jim is heavily involved in the Washington, D.C., youth basketball community and volunteers as a coach on multiple youth basketball teams. He is also a member of Parish Council for Our Lady of Victory in Washington, D.C.
