Andrew Martin is a Managing Director and Head of the Enthusiast Brand practice in Baird’s Global Consumer Investment Banking Group. Based in Charlotte, Andrew focuses on Active Lifestyles, Fitness & Mobility, Performance & Lifestyle Apparel and Footwear, Outdoor Recreation & Sporting Goods and Sportsman. Andrew has a long history advising both corporate leaders in the sporting world (such as adidas, Wolverine Worldwide, Implus, Vista Outdoors and VF), iconic brands (including Louisville Slugger, Remington, Rip Curl, Filson and Fox Racing) and the industry’s premier growth platforms (including POC, YETI, Canyon, Smartwool, Simms Fishing, Shock Doctor, GSM Outdoors, Wahoo, Peter Millar, HydroFlask, Brooks Sports, Helly Hansen, prAna and Ariat). Prior to joining Baird in 2009, Andrew was a Director in the Consumer M&A practice for Wachovia, where he executed numerous high-profile assignments in similar sectors. He was also intricately involved with many prominent financial sponsors as they evaluated and effected transactions in similar sectors. From 2000 to 2003, Andrew was based in London as a member of the European Corporate Finance practice for Lehman Brothers. From 1995 to 1998, Andrew was based in New York as he began his career at Merrill Lynch in their Global Capital Markets and Investment Banking Program. Andrew received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Wake Forest University and an MBA in finance from the Fuqua School at Duke University. Andrew serves on the College Board of Visitors for Wake Forest University and is actively involved in industry organizations such as the Teddy Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, the Outdoor Industry Association and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation.
