Bio

A. Joseph Shepard is the President and Managing Partner of Archway Capital. He has more than twenty years of private equity experience as an intermediary, direct investor, and fund investor. His responsibilities have involved a full range of private equity investment and transaction activities. These activities have included originating, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, closing, monitoring, and exiting venture capital, buyout, and mezzanine transactions among middle-market operating companies in a broad range of industries. Mr. Shepard is the former head of the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Investment and Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) Program, a private equity fund of funds organization. He is a former investment analyst with the private equity firm Texas Pacific Capital, where he evaluated venture capital investments in early-stage growth and technology companies. Mr. Shepard began his professional career with KPMG Peat Marwick. He is active in a number of academic, charitable and community organizations.
