Jim Zanze Bio

Jim Zanze, Managing Director, is based in Aquilo Partner's San Francisco office. He brings over 30 years of investment banking expertise in the life sciences, with a focus on therapeutics, medical devices, and diagnostics. Before co-founding Aquilo Partners in 2003, Jim served as Managing Director and Head of Private Placements at JPMorgan and Hambrecht & Quist. During his 11-year tenure, he led the group's growth to 34 professionals globally and successfully raised more than $13 billion in private equity for both public and private companies. Jim began his career at Salomon Brothers Inc. in the Venture Capital Group. Jim has also contributed his leadership as a director at the California Pacific Medical Center, where he chaired the investment committee overseeing its $350 million endowment. He received his BA degree from Middlebury College.
